in 2022, my friend and artist Hyland Mather came up with the rad idea to surf the waves of OpenSea.org. Hyland had created an extensive series of his 'Little Guys' paintings, and we thought it would be exciting to animate them into GIFs to try out this new NFT hype.

What I love about these simple, painted characters is how they seem almost cute at first glance. However, once we’ve put them in motion, they took on a slightly darker edge, reminding me of the collectible GarbagePailKids series from the '80s, which I adored as a kid.
