At the end of the summer of 2018 I was approached by &Samhoud Creative Tech to blow life into the already existing character of Techie.

From June 4, 2018, Albert Heijn taught children 'skills of the future' for 4 weeks with the ‘Tech-is-te-gek’ campaign. To promote this savings campaign among the target group, Maak Amsterdam came up with a unique concept: a YouTube series to bring the savings campaign more to life and to make a hero of the robot Techie, who was the face of the campaign.

In TECHIE the series we see the collaboration between Dutch influencers and the AR-animated robot. When Amy (played by YouTuber Bibi) and Mitch (played by Vincent Visser) are home alone for an evening with their babysitter Dennis (played by Gio), something strange happens. They find Techie, who needs their help. When the evil Mr. G. (played by Bob Stroop) suddenly stands at their door with accomplices, it becomes clear that the three young people are on thin ice. They're doing everything they can to get Mr. G. to stop.

Techie de Serie is a story in which four brave teenagers join forces with robot hero Techie against an enemy. This trilogy became the first high-quality Dutch fiction series on YouTube with roles for well-known YouTubers Hanwe, Gio and Bibi. In other words, the great heroes for the young target group of our time.

There have been various expressions on social media around the series, in a cross-media way to successfully promote the series and the app. This eventually resulted in a reach of more than 1 million and a total of 5 million watch minutes on YouTube. In addition to the incredibly large reach that the series has managed to achieve, the reactions from the target group were more than positive. We are therefore proud of this great campaign with even better results; Trending on YouTube for no less than three weeks and the second episode even reached position 2 in Trending, which means that the video appealed to many different users above average.
